Guidelines for the Poster Presentation

GUIDELINES FOR POSTER PRESENTATION COMPETITION

  • Pharmacist Track posters: Presentation and judging will take place on:
    • 5 October, 15:00–15:45 (GMT+8) (Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Practices, and Regulatory Affairs; Pharmacy Education)
    • 6 October, 8:30–9:30 (GMT+8) (Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice; Health Services Research)
  • Pharmacy Technician Symposium posters: Presentation and judging will be on 5 October, 15:00–15:45 (GMT+8).
  • All poster competition presenters are required to register for a 2-day onsite pass to the Congress on/before 31 July 2024. The poster competition presenter (PSS member or non-member) is eligible for early bird registration rates throughout the registration period. Please request the special registration link from the congress secretariat at secretariat.spc@mims.com
    • All posters must be in English. Please prepare the physical poster, A0 size (84.1x118.9 cm, or 33.1x46.8 in), portrait layout.
  • Poster competition presenters must stand by their poster during the presentation to answer queries from the judging panel. Otherwise, no score will be given by the judges.
  • Time for each poster presentation: 7 minutes
    • Presentation: 4 minutes
      • Important: Please cover every aspect of the poster within 4 minutes. After this allotted time, the session chairperson will be obliged to end the presentation.
    • Questions and answers: 3 minutes
  • Physical posters must be set up by 8:30 (GMT+8) on 5 October 2024 and removed before 16:00 (GMT+8) on 6 October 2024. Any unclaimed posters will be disposed of accordingly.
  • The poster should include:
    • Background & objectives
    • Methods
    • Results (include appropriately labelled tables and figures, if applicable)
    • Discussion (focusing on strengths and weaknesses, pharmacy practice relevance/impact/innovation)
    • Conclusion (clear take-home message[s] for the audience)
    • Acknowledgement and declaration of funding, if applicable
    • References (restrict to key references)
  • Viewers should be able to read your poster content from a distance of one (1) metre. Make sure that your text is not too small to read, or so big that it overwhelms your poster.
  • Award decisions from the judges will be considered final.
  • The award presentation for winners of the best posters will be on 6 October 2024, 16:00 (GMT+8), at the Grand Ballroom.
Optional e-poster
  • Poster competition presenters are also invited to prepare a 1-slide e-poster, which will be uploaded to the 33rd Singapore Pharmacy Congress website and made available via the onsite e-poster kiosks during the 2-day congress.
  • Please prepare the 1-slide e-poster using PowerPoint. Ensure the layout is set to 16:9 portrait layout.
  • Save your final 1-slide e-poster as a PDF file.
  • The 1-slide e-poster must be emailed to secretariat.spc@mims.com (congress secretariat) by 30 August 2024.
