Admin
I do not have a team yet, can I still sign-up?
Definitely! If you do not have a team yet, we will provide networking opportunities for you to connect with other individual participants to potentially form a team. If you form a team after submitting your registration, please ask your new team members to indicate your name in their registration forms or inform the hackathon organisers at sghackitrx@wg.pss.org.sg. The hackathon committee will help you form a team should you have trouble doing so.
Is SGHackitRx, including workshops, free?
Yes, entirely free! Spread the word and invite others to join.
When will I be notified of my registration outcome?
You will receive an acknowledgement email once your registration is received. If your registration is successful, you will receive a follow-up confirmation email. If we are unable to offer you a spot, you will also be informed via email. For any enquiries, please contact us at sghackitrx@wg.pss.org.sg.
Who can I contact if I have more questions?
Please email sghackitrx@wg.pss.org.sg if you have additional queries. Responses may take 3 to 5 working days.
What do I need to prepare or bring on the event days?
We recommend that each member of the team brings their personal internet-enabled laptop/device whenever possible. If needed, teams can also bring their own stationery (e.g., markers/pens, sketch paper) to facilitate team discussion and ideation. Most importantly, come to the hackathon with an open and creative mind!
Team
Can anyone join the event, as an individual or team?
No experience is needed. The minimum age to participate is 18 years old, and both working adults and students are welcome. Each team must have at least two participants, including at least one member based in Singapore and at least one pharmacist. Participants who join without a team will be given opportunities to network and find a team member. Otherwise, the organising committee will assist in the team-matching process.
Can I choose to join physically or virtually?
Participants are required to be present physically.
What happens if I am unable to atttend each day of the entire program?
As long as half your team is present, your teammates are agreeable, and your team can continue hacking, this will not be a problem.
I would like to form a group with people I know, but my team lacks a pharmacist/pharmacy student. Can I still participate?
Yes, your team can still participate. Please indicate in the registration form that you would like a pharmacist/pharmacy student to be assigned to your team.
Problem
What is the theme for this year’s hackathon?
The theme for the hackathon is “Innovation in Healthcare Delivery: Enhancing Care and Reducing Burnout”. We are looking for solutions that benefit patients and/or healthcare staff.
What problem statements can I work on? Can I suggest my own?
Please stay tuned for further information on the selection of problem statements.
Solution
Must my team’s solution be a functional prototype by Demo Day?
Not necessarily! Our focus this year is on ideation – whether it is a mock-up, prototype or even a fully functional application, we will be excited to see what you come up with!
What is the judging criteria based on?
The full judging criteria will be shared during the hackathon. However, key criteria include team collaboration, presentation of and adherence to the theme, and the feasibility, cost-effectiveness, scalability and creativity of the proposed solution.
