Professor Tracey Thornley is a qualified pharmacist and health economist specialising in supporting outcomes evidence across healthcare policy and practice.
At an international level, Professor Thornley is chair-elect of the Data and Intelligence Commission and a part of the executive committee for the community pharmacy section of the International Pharmaceutical Federation, where she supports work on antimicrobial stewardship and mechanisms to combat resistance.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she acted as an advisor to support managed responses at national and localised levels. She was loaned to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) to take a more active lead with variant intelligence and surveillance, as head of both the Research Innovations Partnerships team and the Health Innovation and Policy Integration team.
As professor of Health Policy at the University of Nottingham, Professor Thornley is seconded out across government, acting as scientific advisor for surveillance transformation and the national biosurveillance network for UKHSA.

Professor Dean Ho

Professor Dean Ho is director of The Institute for Digital Medicine (WisDM) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, director of the N.1 Institute for Health, and head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Along with his collaborators, he manages over 10 clinical trials and developed CURATE.AI, an artificial intelligence platform personalising treatment for a broad spectrum of indications, and IDentif.AI, which optimises therapy against SARS-CoV-2 and antimicrobial resistance.
He is an elected fellow of the US National Academy of Inventors, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering, and the Royal Society of Chemistry. He leads a World Health Organization working subgroup for the regulation AI for Health. He authored the best-seller Medicine Without Meds, a blueprint on accelerating innovation for patients and caregivers; proceeds benefit the WisDM Patient Impact Fund at NUS.
Professor Ho and his discoveries have been featured on National Geographics, Channel News Asia, CNN, The Economist, The Straits Times, National Geographic, Forbes, The Washington Post, and NPR. He has received numerous awards, including the Tech Heroes from Crisis Pathfinder Award from the Singapore Computer Society and the NSF CAREER Award.

Professor Nick Watts

Professor Nick Watts is the director of the Centre for Sustainable Medicine, leading the efforts of the National University of Singapore (NUS) to accelerate the transition to net zero and resilient healthcare systems across the world.
Prior to working with NUS, Professor Watts worked as the chief sustainability officer for the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK, where he spearheaded efforts to deliver low-carbon healthcare, leading the Greener NHS team with a budget of almost SGD 1 billion.
Professor Watts is a medical doctor, a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians’ Faculty of Public Health, and has worked as the executive director of the Lancet Countdown and as the founder of the Global Climate and Health Alliance and the UK Health Alliance on Climate Change.

A/Prof Camilla Wong has 30 years of experience in healthcare and is currently the chief pharmacist at the Ministry of Health and director of allied health at the Sengkang General Hospital. Recognised as a leader in healthcare, she has been appointed to numerous committees spanning a variety of portfolios that encompass quality and safety.
A/Prof Wong plays an integral role in the development of career pathways and competency frameworks for pharmacists and allied health professionals. She has been a role model and mentor to numerous healthcare professionals, with many helming leadership and headship positions. As chief pharmacist, A/Prof Wong oversees the National Pharmacy Strategy and PharmForce initiative that focuses on establishing a healthy, motivated and resilient pharmacy workforce to deliver value-added services.

Mr Mohamed Ismail Abdul Aziz

Mr Mohamed Ismail Abdul Aziz is currently a lead specialist at the Agency for Care Effectiveness (ACE), where he oversees the Economic Modelling team. He is a pharmacist by training but has been involved in health technology assessment since 2011, starting as part of the Pharmacoeconomics and Drug Utilisation Unit at the Health Sciences Authority before joining ACE in 2016. Mr Abdul Aziz has worked on the development and execution of economic models to inform subsidy decision-making for health technologies, including drugs, diagnostics, and medical devices.

A/Prof Hairil Rizal Abdullah is a senior consultant anaesthesiologist and clinician scientist at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH). After completing his advanced specialist training in Singapore, he underwent fellowship training in the subspecialty area of Perioperative Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada, followed by an MSc in the same area from University College London, UK. He holds a PhD from Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore on the utilisation of data science in healthcare, a topic that he deeply believes in. His passion for lifelong learning has earned for him a National Medical Research Council Research Training Fellowship in 2020 and the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship by the Public Service Commission, Singapore, in 2022.
Since 2020, A/Prof Abdullah has been the appointed value lead for SGH. He is tasked with guiding a cross-functional and multidisciplinary team in scaling up and operationalising value-driven care initiatives across all clinical specialties.

Since December 2021, Dr Lucia Rizka Andalucia has served as director general of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, which got her involved in policy-making related to administering pharmaceutical services, provisioning medicines and vaccines for government programmes, and the development and manufacturing of medicines, vaccines, and medical devices.
Prior to this, she served as director of Drug Registration at the Indonesian Food and Drug Supervisory Agency, during which she also became spokesperson for COVID-19 vaccination. Dr Andalucia also has experience in the clinical field, as she became the head of Pharmacy at Dharmais Cancer Hospital.

Mr Junhao Ang is serving at Tan Tock Seng Hospital as part of the Cardiology Clinical Services team. Together with his teammates, he reviews cardiology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings to optimise their medical therapy. His practice interests include cardiology pharmacy, heart failure, and pharmacogenomics. He is currently pursuing post-graduate studies part-time as a Doctor of Pharmacy candidate.

Mr Ang Wei Chang is an experienced pharmacy technician with 14 years of experience in public healthcare. He graduated with a Diploma in Biotechnology from Singapore Polytechnic and went on to complete his Certified Pharmacy Technician Course and Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Western Australia.
His interest in procurement and aseptic compounding led him to specialise in these areas. Known for his expertise in ensuring pharmaceutical safety and quality, Mr Ang has consistently contributed to optimising pharmacy operations and delivering exceptional patient care.

Ms Wendy Ang

Ms Wendy Ang is a specialist pharmacist at Changi General Hospital. She graduated from the Department of Pharmacy, National University of Singapore and has since been working as a hospital inpatient pharmacist. Geriatrics is her area of special interest. Through a Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) attachment in Tucson, Arizona and a year-long residency in geriatrics in Spokane, Washington, she enriched her experience in nursing home work and residency training.
Ms Ang is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist and is registered as a specialist in Advanced Pharmacotherapy (Geriatrics). She has also had the opportunity to work with nursing homes and pharmacy students on various projects involving medications and older people. Aside from her special interests, Ms Ang serves on various inter-institutional groups, such as the Singapore Pharmacy Council’s Continuing Professional Education Accreditation Committee, and is the associate programme director for Singapore’s National Pharmacy Residency Programme in Geriatrics.

Dr Ashita Bhatia is the associate director of medical and safety sciences at Kenvue Inc. She leads research in support of daily mouthwash use at Kenvue. In addition to working with local health associations and regulatory bodies in key markets across the Asia Pacific (APAC), she collaborates closely with key opinion leaders, universities, and hospitals to support oral health research and mouthwash relevance in the professional community. Most recently, Dr Bhatia is leading a partnership with Hiroshima University in Japan, researching the importance of oral health in the prevention of hospital-acquired infections.

Ms Boey Theng Hiang is a senior pharmacist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), committed to excellence with a Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours from the National University of Singapore. As a trailblazer, she spearheaded the implementation of robotic process automation at TTSH, revolutionising operational processes. Her proficiency includes self-taught mastery of Excel VBA/Macros, which has empowered her and her team to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Notably, among her achievements are the digitalisation and automation of the workflow for the Master Team, facilitating seamless drug code creation. Her recent projects include evaluating and digitalising other manual workflows, furthering TTSH’s commitment to technological advancement. Motivated by a passion for digitalisation and its potential to transform everyday tasks, Ms Boey continues to champion innovation in pharmacy practice.

Ms Carolyn Chan

Ms Carolyn Chan is a senior pharmacist at Unity Pharmacy, where she passionately empowers the public to take charge of their health through tailored smoking cessation and weight management services. As the pharmacy store manager, she leads her team in delivering exceptional service and care to the community.
Ms Chan has also been very active in the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS). She was chairperson of the Community Chapter, where she launched the PSS Practice Guide for Minor Ailments and championed the “Start to S.T.O.P.” national smoking cessation programme. In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the PSS-DCH Auriga Community Pharmacist of the Year Award 2020.
In 2022, as co-chairperson for Pharmacy Week, Ms Chan introduced an innovative holistic health concept that incorporated diet and exercise through engaging public activities. Currently, she heads the PSS Community Vaccination Sandbox Taskforce, focusing on upskilling community pharmacists and enhancing their roles in preventive health.

Dr Grace Chang

Dr Grace Chang is an R2 residency-trained, cardiology specialist pharmacist working in both the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Pharmacist Clinic. Her work spans the spectrum of acute, ambulatory, and tele-based (AMI-HOPE) cardiology care. She leads Clinical Governance, represents her department in the Clinical Research Unit, and contributes to various hospital-, cluster-, and national-level committees. Dr Chang also precepts Doctor of Pharmacy candidates during their cardiology clerkships and delivers adjunct lectures on cardiac arrhythmias at the National University of Singapore Department of Pharmacy.

Ms Angela Jude Noelle Cheah

Ms Angela Jude Noelle Cheah is a pharmacy technician executive at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS), having started as a pharmacy assistant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). She was enrolled in the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore’s (PSS) 12th Certified Pharmacy Technician Course (CPTC) and graduated as a pharmacy technician in 2005.
Throughout her career, Ms Cheah has expanded the inpatient pharmacy lab with sterile eye preparations and outpatient pharmacy antibiotics therapy, and has supported ambulatory oncology services and total parenteral nutrition distribution in the intensive care units of TTSH.
She has developed an interest in purchasing and inventory management and is certified by the Singapore Logistics Association with a Specialist Certificate in Effective Purchasing Management.
Ms Cheah had the opportunity to present a poster at the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in Seoul in 2017 on the Real-Time Chemotherapy Verification System under Johns Hopkins Singapore as a new pharmacy technician executive.
In 2019, she received her first accreditation in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy Counselling.

Mr James Cheong

Mr James Cheong obtained his Pharmacy degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1993 and practised as a pharmacist at Guardian Pharmacy and Mt Alvernia Hospital before embarking on a career that has now spanned more than 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry in the areas of drug regulatory affairs, clinical research, and general management.
His first industry position was with Rhône-Poulenc Rorer, a French pharmaceutical company that is now part of Sanofi, where he was responsible for drug registration and clinical trials in Singapore. His time at Rhône-Poulenc Rorer exposed him to diverse possibilities within drug regulatory affairs and clinical research for someone with a pharmacy background. From there, he proceeded to take on various roles in contract research organisations and pharma companies such as ICON, Parexel, and Boehringer Ingelheim.
Mr Cheong’s last role in the industry was with George Clinical, an Asia-Pacific–based contract research organisation. As its CEO, he led business transition, strategic repositioning, and global expansion; he recently stepped down from that position, having achieved what he had set out to do at the company.
He is currently taking a break from the corporate world to spend more time with his family and is also providing advisory and mentoring activities where his experience can be helpful.

She is a board-certified geriatric specialist pharmacist and a collaborative prescriber. Ms Cheong leads the pharmacy for inpatient and emergency geriatric services at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Notably, she has pioneered and established the transdisciplinary role of geriatric pharmacist in the assessment, management, and right-siting of frail older adults in the Emergency Department. She also plays important roles as an educator, contributing as a clinical preceptor, lecturer, and assessor for the National University of Singapore PharmD programme and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She was formerly the deputy chief pharmacist and head of the National Pharmacy Programme Management Office (NPPMO) with the Ministry of Health, overseeing the implementation of the National Pharmacy Strategy (NPS) to transform the delivery of pharmaceutical care and medication management since 2017. A/Prof Dr Mai Chun Wai, head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at UCSI University, holds a postdoctoral certificate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and was a visiting researcher to the British Antarctic Survey (Cambridge), University of Strathclyde (Glasgow), and the National Research Council (Naples).
His research focuses on applying genomic and proteomic techniques in cancer drug discovery. He has secured research grants and consultancy projects exceeding USD 1.2 million. With over 90 publications and an H-index of 27, Dr Mai’s contributions have earned over 2,000 citations and more than 200 cumulative impact factors.
Recognised as a chartered scientist by the Royal Society of Chemistry, Dr Mai chairs the Focus Group Pharmacology at the International Pharmaceutical Federation and holds leadership roles in the Malaysian Pharmacists Society. A/Prof Rahul Malhotra is a physician–researcher, associate professor of Health Services and Systems Research, and deputy director of the Centre for Ageing Research and Education at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. His primary research focus is ageing, both at the individual and population levels. Key research projects he has led or is leading include (1) nationally representative longitudinal surveys of older Singaporeans (PHASE and THE SIGNS Study), (2) longitudinal quantitative and qualitative studies of family caregivers (TRACE and Quali-T), and (3) a health services research project providing the evidence base for older person-centred prescription medication labels (PROMISE). He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and is a member of the World Health Organization’s Consortium on Metrics and Evidence for Healthy Ageing. They moved to Singapore for one year, and over 20 years later, they are still there. Dr Muttu enjoyed being an anaesthetist at the National University Hospital (NUH) but took a career break in 2003 to look after her three children full time. In 2023, she returned to the Department of Anaesthesia at NUH (part-time) to assist with ongoing research projects.

Dr T V Narayana

Dr T V Narayana is a prominent figure in the field of pharmacy, renowned for his contributions to pharmacy education and for his leadership and organisational skills. With over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, he currently serves as director of Vikas Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences in Rajahmundry. In 2020, he was conferred with the prestigious international award of the Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA), the FAPA Ishidate Award. Dr Narayana has played a significant role in organising numerous congresses, conventions, and workshops at both national and international levels, contributing greatly to the advancement of pharmacy education in India.
Throughout his career, Dr Narayana has held several leadership positions, including national president of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), general secretary of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association, and president of the South East Asian Regional Pharmaceutical (SEARPharm) Forum. He has been instrumental in the development of IPA Education divisional activities across India and significantly expanding IPA membership. He has also been instrumental in conducting vaccination training for Indian pharmacists with FIP and has recently received prestigious international awards: the FIP Fellowship 2024 and the Fellowship of CPA 2024.

A/Prof Surakit Nathisuwan received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, completed specialized residency in Pharmacotherapy from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and became a US board certified pharmacotherapy specialist in 2000. A/Prof Nathisuwan is currently the dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Thailand. His research interest encompasses pharmacy practice, outcome research, applied pharmacology research with a focus on cardiovascular drugs. He has been actively working with professional organisations and government to support pharmacists’ role in the health system along with the overall improvement of drug policy of Thailand. Dr Jasmine Chiat Ling Ong

She is also an adjunct faculty member at Duke-National University of Singapore (Duke-NUS) Medical School. In 2021, she became the first pharmacist in Singapore to receive the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) Clinician Innovator Award, and in 2024, she was named a US-ASEAN J. William Fulbright Scholar to the University of California, San Francisco.
With a strong passion for medical AI and digital innovation, Dr Ong’s research has been published in leading digital health journals, including The Lancet Digital Health and NEJM AI.

Dr Kheng Yong Ong

Ms Saw Yashi

Dr Santhosh Kumar Seetharaman

Dr Santhosh Kumar Seetharaman has been leading the development of the Healthy Ageing Programme at Alexandra Hospital, with the vision of proactively managing ageing-associated syndromes. In line with the mission of promoting active ageing and enabling seniors to live fulfilling lives, he has been serving the community through his outreach service called Geriatric Services Hub, which was launched with funding from the Ministry of Health. This hub has been actively managing frailty, sarcopenia, and other geriatric syndromes through a multidisciplinary team for many years. In addition, he has developed frailty and sarcopenia management pathways across various departments at Alexandra Hospital. Dr Seetharaman has also successfully contributed to training future geriatricians by establishing Alexandra Hospital as one of the training sites for the geriatric senior residency program at NUHS. He continues to pursue his passion for helping community partners manage frailty and sarcopenia to support successful ageing.

Dr Vivianne Shih

118th Council Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS)

Dr Vivianne Shih is the president of the 118th Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore. She is a specialist pharmacist at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) and obtained both her Doctor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy) Honours degrees from the National University of Singapore. Dr Shih is also U.S. board-certified in both pharmacotherapy and oncology.
Dr Shih has been practising in the area of oncology for close to 20 years. Her clinical practice focuses on solid tumours and lymphoma. As the clinical lead for the Pharmacy Department at NCCS, she has been pivotal in the setting up of clinical pharmacy services. In 2021, Dr Shih was awarded the SingHealth Allied Health Professional Clinical Champion Award.
Dr Shih is currently the residency programme director for the National Pharmacy Residency Programme R2 (Oncology). She also precepts PharmD Clerkship students and is active in teaching Division of Medical Oncology residents at NCCS.

Mr Marvin Sim

Mr Marvin Sim is a senior clinical pharmacist at the National University Health System (NUHS) Pharmacy. He has been actively involved in cardiology within the primary care setting and is advocating for the integration of pharmacogenomics into primary care. He has worked in collaboration with the National University Hospital (NUH) for IHD Shared Care and is also involved in CADENCE Track 3. In addition, Mr Sim is contributing to efforts in pre-emptive pharmacogenomics in primary care and has been involved in educating pharmacists on cardiology topics. Aiding the push for pharmacogenomics, he is also involved in the “Designing Therapy to Suit You – Statin PGx” study, which focuses on providing lipid-lowering therapy to patients while avoiding statin-associated muscle symptoms.

Dr Benson Siow

Dr Lars-Åke Söderlund

Dr Lars-Åke Söderlund has held notable positions in the pharmaceutical field, including vice president of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society and various executive roles at Apoteket AB, where he currently serves as executive advisor. He led the national project “Check My Medicines” from 2012 to 2020, enhancing senior healthcare in Sweden.
Internationally, Dr Söderlund is the vice president of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and has held multiple other roles within FIP, including immediate past president of the Community Pharmacy Section and chair of the Congress Programme Committee. He has been a lecturer for pharmacy students in China and the USA since 2008 and 2012, respectively.
For his contributions to the field, Dr Söderlund has received several awards, including Pharmaceutical Profile of the Year (Sweden, 2014), Great Individual Support to Healthcare in China (2017), FIP Fellow (2018), and Pharmacist of the Year (Sweden, 2020). In 2024, he became an honorary member of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society.

Ms Abigail Tan

Ms Abigail Tan has been working as a pharmacy technician since 2013 and currently oversees the Emergency Pharmacy at the KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).
In 2019, she was nominated to represent her institution in the Chief Pharmacist–Pharmacy Technician Leaders Group. In April 2021, she started the KKH Pharmacy Technician’s Workgroup to better disseminate information at the operational level.
In December 2021, the Pharmacy Technician’s Community of Practice (PTCoP) was formed; in December 2023, Ms Tan was nominated to chair it.
In 2022, she submitted her project to FIP’s Pharmacy Congress and was selected for poster presentation at the congress in Seville, Spain. In 2023, the project she submitted to ASHP was selected for poster presentation at the Pharmacy Congress held in Anaheim, California.

A/Prof Doreen Su-Yin Tan is an associate professor with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and a cardiology specialist pharmacist at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore. She previously headed the Pharmacy Department at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, transitioned to Corporate Development as assistant director of the Value Office before joining NUS Department of Pharmacy full-time. In her current role, she continues to lobby for the rational use of cardiovascular (CV) pharmacotherapy and emphasises the value of CV team pharmacists through her role as a board member of the International Society of Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy (ISCP). She spearheaded initiatives such as the A to Z of CV Pharmacotherapy webinar series and the ISCP CLAPs (CataLysing ReAl-World Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy).
Active in clinical practice and precision medicine research, A/Prof Tan authored the grant for the implementation of individualisation of antiplatelets using CYP2C19 in clinical practice, known as “iRight4Me Antiplatelet Therapy”, which enrolled its 1007th patient in February 2024 before its conclusion. She is an appointed member of the National University Health System’s Steering Committee for Pharmacogenomics. As part of her role in the workgroup of education and training, she proactively integrated cardiology-related pharmacogenomics into the Undergraduate and Doctor of Pharmacy curricula. She is also a co-investigator for the Precision Health Research’s Clinical Implementation Pilot (PRECISE CIP). She is the principal investigator for “DTSY Statin Therapy” study, a project on the use of statin pharmacogenomics funded by the Ministry of Education, which began recruitment at the National University Polyclinics (NUP) in April 2024.
A/Prof Tan is passionate about translational research and digital health interventions. She is the pharmacist lead for the national pragmatic study AMI-HOPE (Acute Myocardial Infarction allied Health-Oriented Patient-centred digitally-Enabled care), a digital-based post-myocardial infarction care program funded by the Ministry of Health-funded Health Services Development Programme (HSDP) and delivered by specialty-trained collaborative prescriber pharmacists. Dr Tan Hiok Hee is the medical director and senior consultant dermatologist at Thomson Specialist Skin Centre in Singapore, a practice established in 2012. Dr Tan has particular interests in acne, cutaneous and sexually transmitted infections, and pioneered research on antibiotic resistance in acne over two decades ago at the National Skin Centre. Dr Tan completed her basic and advanced specialist training in internal medicine and dermatology, respectively, including a rotation at the Dermatology Unit of Singapore General Hospital. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Tan is involved in research and education, currently holding visiting consultant positions at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital and the Institute of Mental Health. Dr Zain previously served as chief resident of the Paediatric Residency Programme.
