Head of Customer Medical Experience\nGreat Eastern Life

Dr Raymond Ong is currently the head of customer medical experience at Great Eastern. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2011 and did postings in general surgery, general medicine, pediatrics, and emergency medicine. He then went on to work at Mount Alvernia Urgent Care Centre as resident medical officer, with special interest in emergency medicine and pediatrics. He also spent a year with Singhealth Translational Immunology and Inflammation Centre, gaining experience in clinical and bench research.

He joined MHC and then Adept as medical director, adjudicating medical claims and later developing solutions for faster, accurate claims and pre-authorization handling. He was also heavily involved during the COVID-19 pandemic, co-developing a platform for assignment and documentation of telemed cases, which went on to be the core platform used for the home recovery platform; for his contributions, he was awarded the Public Service Medical (Covid) in 2022. In his current role, he strives towards developing solutions for cost-effective care to ensure accessible, affordable and accountable healthcare for all.
