Using Augmented and Virtual Reality in Pharmaceutical Science Education and Training
The education and training landscape has evolved drastically in recent years, with educational technology (EdTech) implementations such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR) and gamification making their mark in the classroom. EdTech has revolutionised the traditional classroom and fuelled the shift from traditional teaching and learning to technology-infused teaching and learning. Innovative technologies now allow the creation of more dynamic materials for learners to learn collaboratively and independently. The application of these technologies in the classroom also allows the provision of more immersive and interactive learning environments, supporting the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, collaborative learning and self-directed learning skills. This presentation will shed light on how learner-centred, inquiry-based strategies are supported by AR and VR tools, enhancing the learning effectiveness and teaching quality for learners.
