Medicinal Product Supply Chain Integrity and Security
The medicines supply chain remains vulnerable to disruptions that can lead to shortages and increases in substandard and fake medicines. Strengthening the medical product supply chain can ensure supplies of trusted quality medicines around the world. Key actions to secure a more resilient supply chain include identifying vulnerabilities in the upstream supply chain, manufacturing solutions to strengthen the global medicines supply chain, and strengthening regulatory systems and quality assurance. A brief introduction t o the APEC Supply Chain Security Toolkit – which USP helped to develop, with sponsorship from USFDA, to help address vulnerabilities in global medical product supply chain – will also be shared.
